Quick and Accurate Testing at the Ord Animal Clinic Lab
The last thing you want to wait on regarding the health of your companion animals or livestock is laboratory results. Our in-house laboratory offers state-of-the-art equipment and testing capabilities to produce quick and accurate results.
At Ord Animal Clinic, we dedicate ourselves to providing your animals with the most comprehensive and advanced diagnostic services. We can perform complete blood count (CBC) tests, blood chemistry, T-4 panels, and other diagnostic testing on-site. This testing capability helps us provide prompt care and maintain your herd’s (and your pet’s) overall health.
Complete Blood Count Testing
CBC tests analyze your animal’s number of white blood cells, red blood cells, and platelets. The results we gain from these tests help us determine oxygen capacity, clotting ability, and immune system function. Complete blood count testing also helps us diagnose conditions like anemia, immune disorders, and some cancers.
Blood Chemistry Panels
Blood chemistry panels provide insight into the function of an animal’s internal organs. We measure aspects of your pet or livestock’s blood, including liver enzymes, electrolytes, and glucose levels, to determine organ health, hydration, and more.
T-4 Panels
T-4 panels measure thyroid hormone levels in your animal’s blood to determine if their thyroid gland is properly functioning. These levels can significantly impact their overall health if they are too low or too high. If we notice anything during this test, we can tailor a treatment plan to your pet’s or livestock’s needs to keep them healthy.
